Copyright & Licensing
℗ 2026 Child of the King. All rights reserved.
Licensed for free non-commercial use under the terms below.
All original musical works (compositions and lyrics) and all sound recordings published on this site and in the album Become the Word are the copyrighted property of Child of the King (the “Licensor”). The © mark denotes copyright in the underlying composition; the ℗ (phonogram) mark denotes copyright in the sound recording. Ownership of these copyrights does not preclude wide public distribution; rather, it permits the Licensor to determine the terms under which the Works are made available. The license set forth below establishes those terms.
License grant
The Works are made available for any non-commercial use, free of charge and without prior permission. The sole restriction reserved by the Licensor is commercial use, as defined in the “Commercial use” section below.
Without further permission, the public may:
- Listen to the Works on any device or system.
- Download individual recordings or the complete album.
- Share the recordings with friends, family, congregations, communities, or other audiences.
- Repost the recordings on any non-commercial website — including personal sites and blogs, church or ministry sites, non-profit organization sites, religious-organization sites, community pages, and missions sites.
- Use the recordings in church services, prayer meetings, Bible studies, retreats, conferences, and other worship or devotional gatherings.
- Include the recordings in non-commercial videos, podcasts, slideshows, or other media projects.
- Create and distribute derivative works — including covers, remixes, samples, arrangements, and translations — provided the resulting derivative is also made available on a non-commercial basis.
- Perform the Works publicly at non-commercial events.
Attribution is welcomed but not required. Where credit is given, the suggested form is “Child of the King — childofthekingmusic.net.”
This license is similar in spirit to Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0), with the attribution requirement waived.
Commercial use
Commercial use is defined as any use in which the Works directly generate revenue or directly support the generation of revenue. The following uses require prior written permission from the Licensor:
- Sale of the Works in any form, including downloads, streams, CDs, vinyl, USB media, paid playlists, and paid sample packs.
- Inclusion of the Works in any paid product, paid application, paid subscription service, or paid music compilation.
- Use of the Works in advertising, marketing, branded content, or any other commercial promotion, whether for the user’s benefit or that of a third party.
- Upload of the Works to any streaming service, music platform, or sample library on which the Works would be monetized for the benefit of any party other than the Licensor.
- Sale or sub-licensing of the Works, or of any derivative works thereof, to a third party.
Common scenarios
- A church, ministry, or non-profit website that accepts donations or displays incidental advertising is treated as non-commercial. Such sites exist primarily to further their stated mission rather than to monetize the Works.
- A video that becomes monetized by an automated platform-level advertising system (e.g., YouTube’s default ad placement) is treated as non-commercial, provided the uploader has not actively enabled monetization. Channels operated for the primary purpose of generating revenue must obtain written permission.
- Sale of a recording or production that incorporates any of the Works — including paid worship-service recordings — constitutes commercial use and requires written permission.
- Live performance of the Works at a church or ministry service — whether or not an offering is collected — is permitted under this license without further authorization.
Requesting commercial-use permission
Requests for commercial use should be sent to child.of.the.king.composer@gmail.com with “Commercial license request” in the subject line. Each request should identify the specific Work or Works involved, describe the proposed project and audience, and indicate the intended duration of the use. Many ministry- adjacent commercial uses are granted at no or nominal cost.
DMCA & takedown notices
Because this license is intentionally permissive, copyright concerns most commonly arise from unauthorized commercial use. Reports of suspected infringement, and DMCA takedown notices directed to content on childofthekingmusic.net, should be sent to child.of.the.king.composer@gmail.com. Each notice should identify the work concerned, the location of the alleged infringement, sufficient contact information for the complaining party, and a good-faith statement.
Trademark
“Child of the King” is used as a performing-artist name in commerce. The license set forth above grants no trademark rights. Use of the name in any manner that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship without prior written permission is not authorized.
Suggested attribution
Where attribution is offered, any of the following formats is acceptable:
- Song-level: “A Prophet Sent From God” by Child of the King, from Become the Word (2026).
- Album-level: Become the Word — Child of the King (2026). childofthekingmusic.net
- Short: “Child of the King — childofthekingmusic.net”
Underlying rights
Registrations with the U.S. Copyright Office and with performing-rights and royalty-collection organizations (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SoundExchange, the MLC) may be on file for some or all of the Works. Copyright subsists in each Work from the moment it is fixed in a tangible medium; formal registration serves as a basis for enforcement. Nothing in this document limits any right that exists by operation of law.
Modifications to these terms
Any modification to these terms will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site or of the downloaded Works following a modification constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
